Unique Israeli UAV to Demonstrate Flight for First Time in AUS&R Airshow

The Thunder B UAV Will Demonstrate FLight Capabilities

For the first time in Israel, a public demonstration of the Thunder B UAV will be held at the forthcoming fifth AUS&R Unmanned Systems airshow, conference and exhibition organized by iHLS.

Developed by BlueBird, the ThunderB UAV is a very unique unmanned aerial vehicle that creates high interest in many armed forces around the world.

The system has proved its capability to fly for more than 25 hours.

The ThunderB is a small and innovative tactical UAV (~28Kg) that, according to the Israeli company, creates a new niche in the tactical UAV arena providing capabilities previously found only in much larger UAV’s, usually with a weight of above 180Kg.

The UAV usually carries an advanced EO/ Cooled IR payload and a long range communication system, all for an extended endurance exceeding the 20 hours mark, required by the customer.

The ThunderB demonstrations that were also conducted in harsh weather including gusts of winds and rain, resulted in unmatched 25.5 hours of endurance from its automatic launch to its automatic parachute and airbag safe recovery, in which all the capabilities were demonstrated, including few hours of max speed flight.

The UAV capabilities will be showcased at the airshow at the AUS&R 2017 that will take place on September 18th, 2017 at the Lago Conference Center, Rishon LeZion.
