קונגרס ישראלי-פלסטיני ציבורי למו"מ - 100 ישראלים ופלסטינים מנהלים מו"מ על תכנית אסטרטגית - מחר ששי, 1 בפברואר 2019 ,9:00-16:00 , מכון גתה, בית אסיה, רח' ויצמן 4, ת"א.
100 ישראלים ופלסטינים, מתחומי חיים שונים ובעלי השקפות פוליטיות שונות, ינהלו מו"מ על תכנית אסטרטגית להפסיק את האלימות ולקדם פתרון לסכסוך. הקונגרס יערך בנוכחות משקיפים בינלאומיים.
קונגרס קצר מועד זה הוא שלב נוסף בדרך להקמתו של קונגרס ישראלי-פלסטיני ציבורי למו"מ – רחב, משמעותי ובעל השפעה. תפקידו של הקונגרס הוא לשתף את הציבור במאמצים לשינוי ולתמרץ את ההנהגות היריבות להגיע להסכמים.
ביום ששי, ה-1 לפברואר, 100 ישראלים ופלסטינים, מסקטורים שונים בחברות היריבות, ינהלו מו"מ על תכנית אסטרטגית להפסיק את האלימות ולקדם פתרון לסכסוך. המשלחות כוללות נציגים משכבות שונות באוכלוסיות: מתנחלים ותושבי המרכז, אסירים פלסטינים לשעבר ומפקדי צבא בכירים בדימוס, דתיים וחילוניים, אשכנזים וספרדים, צעירים ומבוגרים, ועוד. הדיונים פתוחים לקהל הרחב וייערכו בנוכחות משקיפים מהזירה הבינלאומית.
במהלך השנים האחרונות התקיימו כ-40 קונגרסים למו"מ בגדלים שונים – באוניברסיטאות שונות בארה"ב וקנדה, בחדרי כנסים בישראל ובשטחי הגדה המערבית, ובמרחב הציבורי הפתוח בת"א ובירושלים. כמעט בכל אחד מהקונגרסים – בהם השתתפו אנשים מכל גווני הקשת הפוליטית - הגיעו הצדדים להסכם חתום עם פתרונות לסיום הסכסוך.
האירוע בפברואר הוא שלב נוסף וחשוב בדרך גיבושו של קונגרס ישראלי-פלסטיני ציבורי – רחב ובעל השפעה פוליטית אפקטיבית. מוסד בונה שינוי זה – שעתיד לקום בטווח הקרוב - מזמין 120 ישראלים ופלסטינים, בעלי לגיטימציה ציבורית, לנהל מו"מ במשך תקופה. הדיונים מתוכננים לשתף את הציבור הישראלי והפלסטיני במאמצים לסיים את הסכסוך.

Israeli-Palestinian Public Negotiating Congress

100 Israelis & Palestinians from different sectors will negotiate a strategic plan to stop the violence and promote solution to the conflict at the Goethe-institut, Tel Aviv. The event is another step towards the establishment of a major Public Negotiating Congress with political influence.
100 Israelis & Palestinians from different parts of the opposing populations will discuss, debate and negotiate a strategic plan to stop the violence and promote solution to the conflict. The delegations include people from all walks of life, representing various political and social spectrums, such as: settlers, ex-Palestinian prisoners, devout people from different religions, top ex-military officials, businessmen and individuals who have lost their loved ones in the conflict.
The negotiations are open to the public. The congress will be held in the presence of international observers.
This short-term congress is an important step towards the establishment of a major Israeli-Palestinian Public Negotiating Congress – a powerful peacemaking institution that will operate over a period of time. The congress is designed to involve the people in the peacemaking efforts and motivate the leadership, on both sides, to conclude agreements.
The congress is organized by Minds of Peace. The organization have successfully led around 40 Israeli-Palestinian public negotiating congresses in leading universities around the US and Canada, in conference halls in Israel and the West Bank, and in central open public places in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
Dr. Sapir Hnadelman, the founder of Minds of Peace, received the Peter Becker Award in Peace & Conflict Research, which is the most important academic prize in Germany, and probably in Europe, in the field.
